The Garth Woods Conservancy was founded in 1991 under the initiative of Robert F. Borg, a licensed professional engineer, lawyer and designated "Master Builder", who lived and worked in Scarsdale for over forty-five years. Since its founding, the Conservancy has become recognized by Westchester County, and the Committee on Social and Environmental Concerns in the Construction Division of the American Society of Civil Engineers. The Conservancy serves as a vehicle for citizen participation without the need for government funding. With its constituency of members and supporters, the Conservancy can serve as an inspiration for other similar groups in Westchester.

ABOUT GARTH WOODS CONSERVANCY

The Woods contain countless unique prized trees and vegetation, flora and fauna, bridges and paths, and waterfalls and ponds. Additionally, a successful footbridge was built by the Conservancy, which was a major accomplishment.
